Better Than Takeout: Pad Thai Made Simple

Pad Thai is the ultimate Thai street food classic — sweet, salty, tangy, and just a little nutty. The good news is you don’t need takeout to enjoy it. With only five ingredients and one pan, you can whip up this comforting noodle dish at home in minutes.

Ingredients

  • Two hundred grams of rice noodles
  • Two eggs
  • One cup of bean sprouts
  • Two tablespoons of Pad Thai sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Two tablespoons of crushed peanuts

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice noodles in warm water until soft, then drain well
  2. Heat a little oil in a large pan or wok and crack in the eggs, scrambling them until just set
  3. Add the softened noodles to the pan and pour over the Pad Thai sauce, tossing until the noodles are evenly coated
  4. Stir in the bean sprouts and cook briefly so they stay crisp
  5. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle generously with crushed peanuts before serving hot

Tips & Variations

  • Add shrimp, chicken, or tofu if you want extra protein
